Day and Time: Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 9:00am to 3:00pm PST
Tuition: $175
Class Description: In this one-day online workshop on Zoom in real time for Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain returning students, we will focus on the subject matter of still life. We will use the five basic skills of drawing learned in the 5-day intensive (perception of edges, perception of spaces, perceptions of relationships of angles and proportions, perception of the skill of light and shadow, and perception of the Gestalt) to focus on making a still life drawing. This workshop will help deepen your understanding of light and shadow, one of the most important components of the study of drawing. We will also focus on the importance of composition and using a photograph to help translate a 3D image into a 2D drawing. Several new skills, such as crosshatching and how to change the scale of a drawing will be covered as well.
The class will run for two and a half hours, followed by a one-hour lunch break, after which we will have a final two and a half hours of class time. Students will work along with the instructor. All students must have the art supplies listed below to participate fully in the class. The class will be taught by Brian Bomeisler, son of Betty Edwards.
