Welcome!

Welcome to the official Website of Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain®.

Would you like to learn to draw skillfully and beautifully?  Are you a teacher who wants to help students learn to draw?  Or perhaps you just want to enhance your creativity and learn to see the world in new ways?  If so, you are in the right place!

If you would like to take an in-person workshop taught by Brian Bomeisler, an artist and the son of Betty Edwards, please browse our list of Workshops.  He conducts workshops at numerous locations in the United States and occasionally teaches abroad.  Just go to Registration to sign up!

If you'd like to hear an interview with Brian, listen here:  A Tale of Two Brains (WNYC-FM).

Dr. Betty Edwards’s book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain®, has enabled thousands of people around the world to learn to draw.  In this welcoming message, we introduce you to her teaching method, a little of the Theory behind it, and an Exercise that demonstrates its effectiveness.

Dr. Edwards’s drawing lessons are available on DVD, which is included as part of her "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain® Artist's Portfolio.”  The Portfolio provides all of the materials, tools, and instruction you will need to learn to draw in the comfort of your own home, or, if you are a teacher, to use in the classroom as a basis for effective teaching and learning. Individual items can also be purchased separately.

DRSB Workshop Instructor Brian Bomeisler--demonstration portrait drawing of a student

Visit the DRSB Store where you can purchase specially-designed drawing tools to help you with your lessons, the 2-hour DVD featuring Dr. Edwards' teaching the sequential elements of the course, and the popular DRSB Artist's Portfolio--including everything you need to begin to draw!  You can even purchase a downloadable version of the DVD.

On this website, you will see some of the amazing "Before and After" drawings by men and women from many backgrounds and fields of endeavor, most of whom had never before been able to draw.  They gained confidence, insight, and skill by participating in one of our workshops.

Just as many thousands of people around the world have used Dr. Edwards' methods to learn to draw, you can, too!
